Ancient Wisdom

I was preparing for leading a Bible study and came across this passage: "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness" (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

Then it hit me. When Paul was writing this he only had the Old Testament scriptures.
So how much of the Old Testament do I use, or we as a church use, regularly to teach the principles and truths of God?

It seems to me that most adult instruction material quotes mainly New Testament passages.

At home we have been mostly using the Old Testament for our family Bible time. The kids get a lot out of the ancient stories. I'm amazed at how quickly they pick up on that ancient wisdom that is communicated through the narratives. And it's easier to teach.
